Auckland Council has had the negative watch removed from its credit rating.
The rating remains at AA.
Standard and Poor reaffirmed the rating, having looked through the council's draft long term plan.
Mayor Len Brown said the council has carefully balanced the need to keep debt levels as low as possible while also continuing to invest where necessary to move the city forward.
