Road closures
Lower Domain Drive will be closed from 9am to 4pm on weekdays until May 4 for street-light installation.
The Market Rd offramp northbound from the Southern Motorway will be closed from 10pm tomorrow to 6am on Thursday for sign gantry maintenance.
Spraying
Spraying for the painted apple moth resumes today, weather permitting. The area to be sprayed is Ranui and eastern parts of Swanson in Waitakere City. For more information phone 0800 96 96 96.
Safety for elderly
A three-day course showing how to teach elderly people to avoid falls starts today at 9.30am at the Fickling Centre, Mt Albert Rd, Three Kings. Tea, coffee and lunch will be provided. For more information phone Pam on (09) 820-8927.
Crime prevention
The Manukau City Council is working on a crime-prevention action plan, and a series of public meetings to discuss it has been organised for this week.
The first is at 1pm today for residents of Otara Ward, at the Otara Music and Arts Centre, Otara Shopping Centre in Bairds Rd.
A meeting for Howick Ward residents starts at 7pm tomorrow in the Fencible Lounge at Howick library, 25 Uxbridge Rd, Howick.
Residents of Manurewa Ward can attend a meeting at 1pm on Friday in the gymnasium at Clendon Community Centre, 17 Palmers Rd.

Language skills
English reading and writing classes for adult refugees and migrants with limited education in their own language start on April 28 in the Glen Innes area. If you would like to attend these free classes or if you know someone who would benefit from attending, phone (09) 523-0071.
Eastern bus
The Half Moon Bay-Bucklands Beach ferry feeder bus service will finish on April 17 because of low patronage. Half Moon Bay residents who want to continue catching a bus to the ferry terminal can take the route 52 bus and walk from the Prince Regent Drive stop, or cross the road and hop on a bus coming from Howick. Park's future
A draft management plan for Victoria Park in central Auckland has been drawn up and public opinion is invited. Copies of the plan can be inspected at Level Three, Civic Administration Building, 1 Greys Ave, at the Central City Library in Lorne St, by visiting Auckland City or by phoning Vicki Ford on 379-2020. Submissions on the plan close on May 12.
Historic signs
Manukau City Council plans to put up five new signs at the entry points to Manurewa Town Centre, each telling the story of the township.
A display at the Manurewa library has visuals of the proposed signs. But today is your last chance to provide input such as pictures and photos that could be incorporated into the graphics.
