He will appear in the Wanganui District Court today.
A man was treated for non-life-threatening shotgun pellet injuries to his side and back and released from hospital.
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he allegedly shot a man in the face and chest with an air gun.
The incident happened at a rural Okaihau address, near Kerikeri.
Inspector Ian Brooker said the man who was shot was in his forties and known to the alleged offender.
"He received pellet wounds to the face and chest and is being treated for his injuries, which are not life-threatening," he said.
