Attack sends cash flying

A bag full of money split and notes went flying as a balaclava-clad man tried to wrestle it off an 18-year-old girl in front of lunchtime shoppers at Albany yesterday.

Police were last night still looking for the man, who fled empty-handed. Senior Sergeant Matt Broderick said the offender left in a silver station wagon, possibly a Nissan Primera.
