Police are seeking witnesses to an attack that forced a Motueka policeman off work. A spokesman said the senior constable suffered facial and arm injuries in the attack on High St about 7 on Saturday night. Tupara Henry Kingi, 43, a shed hand, has appeared in Nelson District Court on several charges including assaulting the officer and injuring him with intent. The policeman is expected to return to work today.
