Wairarapa's Sade Atkinson is set to be a star performer at the Tennis Central regional performance centre age group tournament to be played at the Masterton Tennis Centre and St Matthew's Collegiate over the weekend.
Atkinson, who achieved some excellent results overseas in recent weeks, is top seed for the 16 years girls singles and, while the tourney has attracted most of the best young players from seven provinces, it will surprise if she fails to live up to her billing.
Other Wairarapa players expected to make their presence felt are Sade's sister, Georgia Atkinson, and Henry Phelps.
Georgia Atkinson will be confronting players almost two years older than herself in the 14 years girls singles.
Phelps is in the 14 years boy singles draw which has 16 entries, the biggest of the tourney. Some of his opposition have high national rankings but Phelps is capable of rising to the occasion.
