KEY POINTS:
At least seven police cars were involved in a pursuit down an Auckland street last night, a witness has claimed.
A resident, who did not want to be named, said the chase happened in Mt Albert Road around 11pm last night.
"All these sirens kept coming one after the other like bullets," he said.
He said one police car was an unmarked Commodore and all were travelling at high speed towards New North Road.
Ten minutes later a dark coloured hatch-back sped back along Mt Albert Road followed by four police cars.
"They were going scary fast," he said.
The resident said apart from the police cars, there was not a lot of traffic on the road.
Police have confirmed a chase took place along Mt Albert Rd and one person has been arrested.
Police communications spokeswoman Darragh O'Riordan said the chase was not sparked by a 111 emergency call and could not give further details.
