Visitors to Masterton's Queen Elizabeth Park should now be able to negotiate their way around with ease thanks to new signs being erected.
The long-awaited signs were being erected yesterday at the five main entrances, and more are to follow in the way of smaller finger signs to ensure all attractions are easily located.
Masterton District councillor Gary Caffell, who heads the Parks and Open Spaces task group, said he is delighted that the "long, drawn-out process" has finally resulted in a successful conclusion.
"Queen Elizabeth Park has become a very popular tourist attraction and the new signs will spell out clearly where each of its attractions can be found. Hopefully the signs and the smaller finger signs will all have been installed in the next week or so," Mr Caffell said.
A makeover of the rose arbours facing Dixon St is on the books. Mr Caffell said the object is to have roses completely covering the arbours which has not been achieved so far.
