Assault in Auckland CBD leaves one in hospital

One person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after an assault in Auckland City.

Police have cordoned off the scene at the intersection of Karangahape Rd and Queen St.

Inspector Ian Brooker said southbound traffic can still travel through the intersection.

He said police were called to the scene shortly before 6am and are speaking to a number of people.
