A Martinborough man accused of assaulting firefighter Peter Fisher appeared in Masterton District Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to November 5.
Milton Haira, 25, unemployed, did not enter a plea and will be keep in custody, by consent, until his next court appearance.
Haira appeared before JPs John Bunny and David Baker charged indictably with assault under the Crimes Act, 1961, and was represented by duty solicitor Peter Stevens.
According to the JPs police had earlier indicated opposition to Haira being granted bail and the remand in custody was with his consent.
