Q: I bought an Acer laptop new this year from Noel Leeming and there is a problem with the internal microphone. This is covered under warranty so I have sent it back to Acer to fix. I sent the laptop on July 19 and was advised it would take 10-14 working days. I have had to call three times to get an update. Apparently, they are still no closer to repairing it because they are having to wait for a part. I am getting extremely tired of waiting and being left in the dark. Can I simply request a new laptop or my money back?

A: I checked with Noel Leeming about the parts hold-up. One of their staff got in contact with you this week to offer either a replacement or a refund, as per your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
