Hip-hop singer Queen Shirl'E is one of several Pasifika artists who performed in central Auckland's Aotea Square yesterday afternoon for the Auckland Arts Festival.
The Mangere singer and others performed on the TV3 Garden Stage in the lead-up to the Pasifika Festival this Saturday.
The free concerts take place throughout the day and have been organised throughout the three-week Auckland Arts Festival, which began last week.
Spokeswoman Rachel Lorimer says the concerts have been received well and the square fills up as workers in the central city take their lunch break.
"It can depend on the weather a bit, but we had a clear day [yesterday] and so lots of people came and enjoyed it," she said.
"It's a nice use for the newly refurbished square."
