An image of an Auckland Island flightless teal perched on sea kelp and another of the dimly lit interior of a Metro train are among nearly 500 photographs and prints displayed in a major photographic exhibition in Auckland.
The 65th national convention of the Photographic Society of New Zealand opened yesterday at the Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre.
It is one of the largest photographic exhibitions ever staged in Auckland and includes hundreds of photographs, prints and projected images. The event is open to the public today and tomorrow between 10am and 5pm for a gold coin donation.
Society president Peter Robertson said nearly 1500 photographs were originally submitted by members and two panels of judges selected those to be exhibited.
