KEY POINTS:
The army's bomb disposal unit removed an old artillery shell from underneath a Wellington house today.
Emergency services were called to the home in Grafton Road in Roseneath about 11am.
A police central communications spokesman said the shell had been removed by about midday.
The road had been cordoned off during its removal.
