KEY POINTS:
A kindergarten and two schools were set on fire at the weekend in Auckland.
An officer in a passing police car noticed smoke at Akarana Kindergarten in Mt Roskill about 7.50am on Saturday. A deck was badly damaged.
A shed at Selwyn College in Kohimarama was deliberately torched about 11.30 that night. Fifteen minutes later, rubbish bags were placed against the administration block at Newmarket Primary School and set on fire. A privately monitored smoke alarm activated, enabling the Fire Service to prevent serious damage.
Detectives are interested in hearing from anyone who saw suspicious activity near any of these sites.
