A deliberately lit fire at a Palmerston North school at the weekend burned down a shed built to replace one burned down a year ago.
Police described the arson and another elsewhere in the city as senseless acts.
In the earlier fire a cleaner's cupboard in a toilet block near Fitzherbert Ave was broken into and its contents set on fire.
The second fire, at Monrad Intermediate in Botanical Rd, destroyed the caretaker's shed.
