A 33-year-old man charged with a $30,000 central Christchurch arson has been granted interim name suppression.
The man appeared in Christchurch District Court today charged with the arson of the Wicked Campers' building in Allen Street, near the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology.
He was further remanded without plea to September 24, after an initial remand so that he could apply for legal aid.
The depot was gutted by fire a month ago but no-one was hurt. Nearby residents were warned to avoid the smoke because asbestos had been found in the building.
