Two people have been arrested after an armed robbery of a TAB in New Plymouth.
A witness to the robbery at the TAB in Fitzroy told Fairfax they saw an offender "built like a brick s***house" walking down the street.
The TAB was robbed just after midday today, with the man escaping on foot.
Police were reportedly told the robber had a gun. A firearm was later recovered along with an undisclosed sum of cash.
Detective Sergeant Mike Aro told the Herald a 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection the TAB robbery and another at a dairy on Barriball St last week.
