Arrests after alleged threat with firearm at Lower Hutt home

A man was allegedly threatened in his Lower Hutt home by two men, one armed with a fake firearm.

A 31-year-old and 32-year-old have been arrested and will appear in the Hutt Valley District Court today jointly charged with aggravated robbery.

Police said the men allegedly went to a property around midnight and threatened the occupant with a firearm.

Police located and arrested two men in close proximity to the address.

A replica pistol was recovered.

The 31-year-old is also charged with possession of a meth pipe and of an offensive weapon.

Police are not looking for anyone else, and it's believed the offenders and victim were known to each other.
