Police are seeking Benjamin Marc Imlach (pictured), who is believed to be in the greater Wellington area.
There is a warrant to arrest the 30-year-old for breach of his parole conditions.
Police said he is considered "unpredictable" and should not be approached.
Imlach is approximately 179cm (5ft 8ins) tall, of thin build, and is actively avoiding police.
