An arrest has been made in relation to the bomb threat that closed a major Christchurch road yesterday afternoon.
Police were called to the suspected bomb scare at Placemakers on Cranford St and the shop was evacuated as police searched the area. No bomb was found.
It has been reported a Placemakers employee told management a phone call had been received claiming there was a bomb on the premises and issuing instructions for cash. About $1000 was taken from the premises but was later recovered.
Police have now confirmed a 40-year-old man has been charged with theft by a person in a special relationship.
