A man who allegedly abducted and attacked a woman before fleeing in her stolen car was arrested yesterday evening in Epsom.
Police had warned that Andre Charles Port was extremely dangerous and should not be approached.
The attack started at 11am in the inner-Auckland suburb of Kingsland.
It is alleged the 29-year-old asked a health worker to give him a ride into the city but then attacked her with a knife, forcing her to drive to a country road in Muriwai.
Police say the 41-year-old victim escaped and Port fled in her car. He was arrested just before 6pm.
