A 32-year-old man has been arrested over a string of robberies in Porirua that took place more than a year ago.
The man allegedly took part in the robberies of licensed premises and a small store in September 2015. In each of the robberies, staff were threatened with firearms.
His arrest comes after a 42-year old man was arrested last month in relation to the same offences. That man was also charged over the robbery of a ten-pin bowling alley.
Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Ferguson said the result was due to the "tenacity of investigators, driven to hold these violent offenders to account".
"While it has taken us longer to get this result than we would have liked, we did not give up, we remained focused and eventually obtained sufficient evidence to charge these men."
