Police have arrested and charged a man over yesterday's robbery of Feilding's BNZ bank.
This afternoon they executed a warrant on a house in Feilding, 20km northwest of Palmerston North, and with help from the armed offenders squad arrested a 26-year-old man without incident, a police spokeswoman said.
A gun and cash, believed to be a large portion of the stolen bank money, was recovered.
The man will appear in Palmerston North District Court tomorrow charged with aggravated robbery and possession of cannabis.
The BNZ was robbed yesterday around 12.45pm. The offender parked a red motorcycle on the footpath, left it running, and entered the bank still wearing a full-face motorbike helmet before approaching the woman cashier with a handgun and demanding money.
No one was injured during the robbery, although the cashier was left shaken.
