Arrest after Queen's b'day hit and run

Police have arrested a man over the death of an elderly man who was hit by a car in Mangere.

The incident happened around 10pm on the Saturday of Queen's Birthday weekend.

72-year-old Sione Lauano died in hospital the next day.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with assault, and police say further charges are pending.
