An 18-year-old woman has been arrested after a pizza delivery driver was shot with an air gun while delivering pizza to an Upper Hutt house.
The woman was due to appear in Upper Hutt District Court this afternoon charged with assault with a weapon and recklessly discharging an air rifle, Detective Sergeant Tony Heathcote of Upper Hutt police said.
The 18-year-old pizza delivery driver, who the Dominion Post today named as Brendon Mikoz, suffered a bleeding welt to his stomach after being shot at close range as he waited for people in the house to return with money about 10.40pm on Tuesday.
An air rifle was recovered. Police yesterday interviewed about 10 people who were in the house at the time.
Mr Mikoz, who lost an eye in a mountain biking accident three years ago, said he was not put off his job by the incident.
Domino's Pizza has blacklisted the house where the incident happened.
