A man is in a moderate condition after being shot in the arm in Taumarunui.
The victim contacted police about 10.40pm yesterday.
The alleged shooter was a man known to the victim.
A police spokeswoman said the victim was taken to hospital.
Waikato and Central police have arrested a 17-year-old man in Hamilton. Inquiries are continuing but nobody else is sought in connection to the shooting.
