The Salvation Army's first Christmas CD - It's a Wrap - went double platinum this week. The CD, being sold through Woolworths, Countdown and Foodtown stores, sold 33,750 within three weeks of its release. Although the fundraising CD would not officially be given double platinum status, the achievement was greeted with excitement, territorial public relations secretary Major Robert Ross said. Progressive Enterprises had paid advertising costs of about $50,000 and was selling the CDs through its checkouts. All the money made from the $5 CDs went to the Salvation Army.
