KEY POINTS:
An army Unimog truck is being investigated after a collision at an intersection at the top of the Auckland central business district early today.
Police said the truck and a car collided in Newton Gully about 6.30am. The driver of the car was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg. No one else was hurt.
"Any accident involving a vehicle of that nature gets investigated by our heavy vehicle investigation unit," said Inspector Willie Taylor from the police Northern Communications Centre.
He said the accident happened about the middle of the dawn service in the Auckland Domain and it was not known where the truck was heading when it and the car collided.
