An army major has been reprimanded after being found guilty of one charge of conduct prejudicial to service discipline over lewd text messages he sent.
Major Savenaca Seruvatu was found not guilty on six charges including indecent assault following a three-day military trial at Wellington's Trentham Army Base ending yesterday.
The incidents were alleged to have happened in 2007 at New Plymouth, Linton and Trentham.
The charge Seruvatu was found guilty of involved his sending lewd text messages to a female captain.
Defence lawyer Tom Gilbert said on the trial's opening day that the alleged offending was a "minor" matter which was not worth bringing to court.
