The army says it has been cleared of blame after a Unimog truck and a car collided in central Auckland early on Anzac Day.
The woman driver of the car was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg but it was now believed she would be charged with driving through a red light.
The Unimog was towing a field gun to an Anzac Day service in Hamilton when it and the car collided about 6.30am on the corner of Newton Rd and Symonds St.
Police had said the army was "unequivocally" not at fault, the army said.
The Unimog driver had lessened the impact and possibly the injuries to the woman by taking avoiding action, the army said.
