A solemn service has been held at the National War Memorial in Wellington to commemorate Armistice Day.
It is the 87th anniversary of the end of hostilities in World War One.
Today also marks the first anniversary of the homecoming and interment of the Unknown Warrior, one of more than 9000 New Zealanders who served in overseas wars and have no known grave.
An all-day vigil has been organised to mark the occasion. Floral tributes were laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at the conclusion of today's service.
