A woman has held up a petrol station at knifepoint in Pahiatua.
Detective Sergeant Grayson Joines said the armed robbery happened just before 9.40pm at a service station on Main St.
He said a female walked into the station armed with a knife and demanded the store worker give her cigarettes and cash.
Joines said no one was injured in the incident and the robber fled.
Police were today carrying out a forensic examination of the petrol station this morning.
