Armed police and an ambulance are at the Filthy Few Motorcycle Club headquarters in Tauranga.
A reporter at the scene said a member of the Armed Offenders Squad and a uniformed officer were guarding the entrance to the club while at least six police cars, two police command units andan ambulance were parked in the street.
Detectives, a police photographer and scene of crime officers were also at the scene.
Traffic was banked up along Birch Ave.
Inspector Karl Wright-St Clair said police searched the property at 3pm under the Sale of Liquor Act and had seized a large quantity of alcohol they believed was to be illegally sold.
Mr Wright-St Clair said police would be making further enquiries in relation to the illegal sale of alcohol at the premises and it was likely charges would be laid.
Police are expected to be at the premises for some time.
