A badly shaken teller was escorted from an east Auckland bank today after armed robbers threatened her and fled soon after the bank opened for business.
Police said it was too soon to say how much money the two men took but the woman teller was badly shaken and would be given trauma counselling.
Senior Sergeant John Yearbury, of Counties Manukau police, said the two men wore balaclavas and fled from the Botany Downs branch of the Westpac Bank in a maroon coloured car. He appealed to anyone who witnessed the robbery to call police.
In another robbery about 9am today a man robbed a Post Shop in the west Auckland suburb of Massey after handing over a note demanding money.
