KEY POINTS:
Armed police searched a property in the Hamilton suburb of Dinsdale this morning looking for a person thought to be in possession of a number of firearms.
Waikato police spokesman Andrew McAlley said the search occurred about 6am and the person was not found.
During the search liquids initially described as chemicals were located, so Hamilton Fire Service's hazardous material team were asked to attend.
The liquids have since been found not to be chemicals.
No arrests were made and one person from the property was helping police with their inquiries.
