KEY POINTS:
Armed police carried out dawn raids on Hawke's Bay properties today looking for evidence to the shooting of a gang member.
A 29-year-old patched Hell's Angel member was shot in the lower back while riding a Harley Davidson on State Highway 2 near Hastings late at night on February 24.
Earlier this week a 19-year-old man, from Hawke's Bay, was charged with attempted murder.
Today police executed several search warrants at addresses in Napier, Flaxmere, Paki Paki, Te Hauke and Waipukurau.
Uniformed officers were assisted by the armed offenders squad, police dog handlers and a specialist search group.
Police found a firearm and ammunition in Flaxmere and ammunition in Te Hauke.
Detective Inspector Sam Aberahama said he was pleased with the find and further arrests would follow.
He said it was important members of the public were not intimidated by anyone if they knew anything about the crime.
After being fired on with a shotgun the injured gang member pulled into a Poukawa farm on his motorbike, 15km south of Hastings, asking for help.
He was taken to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital, where surgeons removed pellets from his abdomen.
He was discharged from hospital on March 14.
