KEY POINTS:
Five police officers had to go through chemical decontamination after the discovery of P-related chemicals and firearms at an industrial address in West Auckland yesterday.
Police from the armed offenders squad went into the Keeling Rd address in Henderson with a warrant relating to firearms, but also found chemicals and equipment allegedly used for the manufacture of the drug P.
Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown said police were last night counting the quantities of drugs and firearms found at the property, which had surveillance systems including video cameras.
It was not known if the drug had been manufactured there.
A 47-year-old Henderson man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He appeared in the Waitakere District Court yesterday.
Mr Brown said the man, who was living at the address, had been running a mechanical business from the building.
