A man was dragged out of his car at gunpoint by armed police after a domestic dispute in Auckland this morning.
The man allegedly threatened his partner before fleeing towards the city centre and was stopped by police in Greenlane.
A witness told NZPA that police surrounded the man's car and "one held a pistol pointing at him...and the other dragged him out of the car".
The man was initially thought to have had a firearm at the address where the dispute began and police said they took normal precautions.
The man was taken away for questioning.
