The armed offenders squad (AOS) has been called out to house in the town of Feilding tonight.
Wellington Shift Inspector Bruce Mackay said the incident involved three people and the AOS were involved as precaution.
"We've got the place sorted. There was a mention of firearms, the extent of how involved they were I don't know."
Mr Mackay said he was waiting for more information from the scene.
