Armed police have arrested four people at a Wellington property after a person was reportedly threatened with a firearm.
Officers were called to the Makara home at 1.50pm, a police spokeswoman said.
“AOS has been deployed as a precaution and cordons are in place on Makara Rd. There are no reports of anyone being injured.”
As of 5.40pm, the spokeswoman confirmed four people have been taken into custody.
Cordons remain in place blocking access to part of the remote suburb.
Members of a local Facebook page have described seeing police cars racing towards Makara with lights and sirens, while others have said police are closing access to some local roads.

He has been given a good behaviour bond and permanent suppression for the offending.
