Two men carrying firearms robbed a Chubb security van in Auckland yesterday afternoon before fleeing in a stolen car.
It is not known how much money the guards were forced to hand over in the 5pm attack outside the ASB Bank at Greenwoods Corner.
Police said the robbers dumped the stolen silver Nissan Primera, registration DHL556, at the nearby Royal Oak School carpark and then ran, possibly into the Royal Oak shopping mall carpark.
One of the men was wearing a motorcycle helmet but the other, who had short dreadlocks, wore no disguise.
Witnesses are asked to contact Detective Sergeant Uraia Vakaruru of the Auckland Central crime squad.
