A police armed offenders squad callout was in full swing tonight after reports a resident on Auckland's North Shore had been approached by two people with a firearm.
The resident, who lived near Auckland Prison at Paremoremo, had been approached by two people known to her, police said.
No shots had been fired.
Further details were sketchy as the operation was still under way.
