A "neighbourly dispute" that ended with a callout for members of the Armed Offenders Squad in Invercargill has been resolved.
Southern Communications police Senior Sergeant Lindsay Turner said armed police and ambulance staff were called to the incident in Glengarry about 3am.
"Two neighbours had a dispute and one presented a gun at another one. We pulled out the Armed Offenders [Squad] as a precaution."
Mr Turner said the incident was resolved about 7am.
"Unfortunately it took some time for the people to understand what was required."
