A man in his thirties is helping police with their enquiries after an Armed Offenders call out in Gisborne earlier this afternoon.
Armed police took the man into custody after being called to what's described as a domestic related incident at a house on Childers Road, in the city's west.
There were also reports of a firearm being involved.
A section of the road was cordoned off for a time.
Police say the man came out of the house of his own accord and surrendered to them.
