Police are hunting an armed man who attacked a Palmerston North store owner last night.
The man entered the Seddon Street food market about 7pm, pointed a gun at the shop owner and forced him to sit on the ground.
The attacker then hit the store owner on the head with the gun and ran off, Detective Sergeant Simon Harrison said.
The store owner was not seriously hurt.
