KEY POINTS:
Ten Auckland houses were evacuated last night after an arcing high voltage line threatened their homes.
Sergeant Tobias Harrison said emergency services evacuated the 10 houses in Sceptre Place and Coronet Place in the Auckland suburb of Avondale at about 11.30pm.
Contractors were working to fix the problem.
