Archives New Zealand is offering a $6000 scholarship for people or groups who use the archives' information for quality projects.
Archives Minister Judith Tizard said the inaugural scholarship was aimed at promoting use of the archives, which were a vast storehouse of information on New Zealand's history.
Applications are now open.
