Beleaguered Interislander ferry Aratere will resume passenger services on Monday.
Maritime New Zealand last Monday banned it from sailing after its engine failed with passengers aboard in Tory Channel on October 31. Freight-only crossings resumed last Friday.
MNZ had given the green light for passenger services to resume on Monday following trials this morning, Interislander general manager Thomas Davis said.
"This has been a difficult time for Interislander. I apologise to all our customers who have been inconvenienced by the disruptions over the past 10 days," Mr Davis said.
"Interislander takes a precautionary approach, and our customers can have confidence that they are in good hands."
