Our Aquaculture operations in Coromandel are
gearing up for expansion
Aquaculture is the fastest growing primary sector across the globe with a sustainable footprint that adds benefit to our ecology whilst nurturing one of the most iconic
superfoods, the Green Lipped Mussel.
Our two operations based in the Coromandel region operate six modern vessels and operate from two land based facilities
We have immediate positions for those wanting to start or advance their career in Aquaculture and Marine Farming.
We offer excellent rates and an accommondation allowance to new employees who live more than 60km from the work site
Vessel Skippers
The role:
Operating vessels of up to 26 meters in length.
Managing and mentoring a team that operates within quality, safety and legislative standards and thrives In a safe and harmonious environment.
A highly motivated and active individual with good communicative skills to deliver to a wide range of people and cultures, with the desire and passion for the aquaculture industry.
Being reliable with the ability to work under pressure.
Knowledge and experience of MOSS and Health and Safety.
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:
Hold a current Skipper Restricted Limits (or ILM/CLM in the process of changeover) endorsed to 24 meters or higher.
Hold a current First Aid certificate.
Only those holding a current Maritime New Zealand qualification will be considered.
Deck Hand/Crew
The role:
Being part of a team that operates within quality and Health and Safety compliance.
General deckhand duties as part of the teams operation.
Being reliable with an ability to work under pressure.
Both Vessel Skippers and Deck Hand/Crew must be flexible to work 4 day and/or 5 day roster.
Shore Side Based Engineering Staff
The role:
To ensure all mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/engineering machinery aboard the vessels are maintained and operated safely in good working order to ensure the vessels safe mussel operation, sailing and berthing.
Installing of marine systems including hydraulics, steering, power generating and vessel stability .
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:
Hold a suitable trade certificate, diesel and transmission or/and fitting and turning.
Diagnostic and problem solving skills.
Experience with marine systems, hydraulic systems, aluminium and stainless welding an advantage.
North Island Mussels Limited has a non drug and alcohol policy which involves a pre-employment and on-going random testing.
